For  God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever  believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life -  John  3:16.  Even if you were the only person on earth, Jesus Christ would  have given His life as God's lamb of sacrifice for your sins, so that  you would know His unconditional love, mercy and grace.  No matter your  past, Jesus Christ loves you!  You are not too bad for God to forgive  you.  Your past does not have to be your future! 

As long as you have breath, it is never too late to ask Him into your heart.  If you desire a life filled with ever  lasting life, love, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,  self control, and happiness (Galatians 5:22-23).  You can welcome  "JESUS  CHRIST"  into your heart right now by repeating in sincere repentant humility, the following simple prayer of salvation.

Dear Jesus Christ,

I regret  how I have lived and the things that I have done.  I repent of my sins  (2nd Peter 3:9), and ask you to be the Lord of my life.  I invite you to  come into my heart and ask you to help me live according to your word,  the Holy Bible.  Thank-you for dying on Calvary's Cross to save me from  my sins.  I believe God raised you from the dead (Romans 10:9-10), and I  thank-you for salvation's plan offering me eternal life forever more.

GENUINE REPENTANCE – A TRUE RETURN TO GOD

The  masquerade of pretense is often seen when a person is caught living a  double life in the web of sin, asks for forgiveness without a contrite  heart of true, genuine, repentance. Often heard is an apology that falls  far short of being truly sorry for the harm they have caused. “I'm  sorry, I hope I can stop the acting out cycle next time,” only serves to  reinforce the false AA recovery concept known as “slip ups”. 

Dr. Charles F. Stanley, In Touch Ministries, explains in his article, “What is Genuine Repentance?”, statements  such as: “Lord, I'm really sorry I got caught,” or “God, I really  regret that sin. I hope I can do better next time”, do not indicate genuine repentance. As both are promoted out of guilt or embarrassment, not a heartfelt sense of remorse over the fact that God the Father has been grieved. “Usually, these people have no intention of changing. They just want God off of their backs”, confirms Stanley. To which I add in relation to sex addicts caught living a double life, “They want their spouse off their back too!” 

SLIP UPS CONFIRM A PATTERN OF FALSE REPENTANCE

For a sex addict in  recovery the acceptance of their “slip ups” by their co-dependent wife  and fellow addicts only serves to reinforce the false reality of  habitual sin being condoned by God. 

Dr. Michael Youssef writes in  Leading The Way, My Journal week 3, June 2014, “The Truth About Sin”.    Youssef states concerning moral tolerance, "Read Romans 6:23. Paul  tells us that sin has a price, and that price is death.  Any sin we  commit ushers decay into our lives. Sexual immorality kills intimacy.  Lying damages integrity. Gossip destroys relationships. Every sin brings  something corrupt and evil into our lives."

Moses  tells the Israelites about God's laws. “This day I call the heavens and  the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and  death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your  children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his  voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life” - Deuteronomy  30:19-20.  Obedience and disobedience are matters of life and death, says Youssef.

When  you slip up committing yet another sinful action, repeating the same  pattern of choice that brought you to your knees with embarrassment and  shame. You are confirming you do not care, never will care, don't want  to care, and could care less if someone else cares. And you wonder why  death to your relationship is a possible resolve? Sin leads to death.  “Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path; the one who hates  correction will die.” Pro. 15:10 (NIV).  

A “slip up” by its very  definition,  is leaving the path.

DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE?    WHAT ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN? 

Notice that blessings and curses extend to our children. Frankly put, sin attracts the devil, and the curses prevail if an addict's “slip ups” prevail. I remember clearly a woman who was pregnant posting on social media concerning her Christian sex addict husband in recovery who continued to have “slip ups”. 

During  consult, I conveyed according to God's word her husband's habitual sins  would affect her soon to be born child. She refused to believe God's  very word (Ex. 20:3-6; Ex. 34:6-7; Jere. 32:18). 

Adam's sin affected not only his children, it affected all of humanity. 

One of the most infamous examples of how sex sins affect our children is seen in the lives of David and Bathsheba (2nd Sam. 12:14-31). King David was being voyeuristic as he watched Bathsheba, innocently taking a bath. Instead of looking away, he lustfully watched, sent for her, and they had sex. Both were married to other people. Bathsheba became pregnant with David's child. Trying to cover for his sin, David made sure Bathsheba's husband, Uriah, was killed during war battle. They get married and she gives birth to a son. 

God has His servant Nathan confront David's sin, who has a heart of true repentance knowing he had sinned against God. God forgives but our sin brings consequences. So true with David who reaped the sorrows of his sin through his own son's death. 

We read this shocking revelation in 2nd Samuel 12:14, “Notwithstanding  this, because you have unquestionably treated Jehovah with disrespect  by this thing, also the son himself; just born to you, will positively  die.” God is the judge of all the earth (Gen. 18:25), and He always works in ways that lead us to true repentance. More over, if God had allowed human judges to declare David and Bathsheba's fate under the law, all three could have died. God latter blessed David  and Bathsheba with another son, Solomon, who became David's successor. 

GOD SHOWS MERCY TO THOSE WHO FORSAKE THEIR SINS

“He  that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but he that confesses and  forsaketh shall have mercy” - Prov. 28:13. The Lord detests the way of  the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.” - Pro. 15:9.  The Lord is close to those who have a broken heart, and saves those of  contrite, remorseful, spirit (Ps. 34:18), who He will not despise (Ps.  51:17).

 When you surrender your will to God in genuine repentance  praying as David prayed, “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy  loving-kindness; according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies  “blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and  cleanse me from my sin.”- Ps. 51:1-2.  He is faithful and just to  forgive you of your sins (1 John 1:9).

THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD

One  cannot think of God's salvation plan without remembering the conviction  felt upon our soul and spirit when we first received Jesus Christ as our  Lord and Savior.  It is a fact, without God's Holy Spirit convicting us  we would not be saved.  I recall reading Watchman Nee's book, "The  Spiritual Man", (In three volumes), by Christian Fellowship Publishers  Inc. , New York, combined edition, 1977,  which confirmed the importance  of God's Holy conviction (page 140):

"Real conviction from the Holy Spirit leads us  to holiness while the aim of Satan is solely to accuse.  He indicts us  to make us indict ourselves.  His motive is nothing other than to make  Christians suffer.  Sometimes after one has accepted the enemy's  imputation and confessed accordingly, Satan may next fill him with a  false peace.  This is no small danger for it deprives the believer of  any real contrition over defeat.  The reproach of conscience ceases once  the sin is confessed and cleansed by the precious blood, but the  accusation of the enemy continues even after what is accused has been  dealt with.  The former leads us to the precious blood; the latter  drives us to despair, causing us to reckon ourselves irredeemable.  The  purpose of Satan is to engineer our fall through accusations: "Since we  cannot be perfect," sighs the believer resignedly, "then what is the  use?"  This is indeed the lament of many addicts in the stronghold of  Satanic attacks and sins temptation snare.

WHAT'S THE USE?

When we give in to Satan's evil agenda for our  life we forfeit God's planned destiny for our life.  We exchange a life  of hope in eternal glory, for one of doom, gloom, Hell and damnation.   Heaven and Hell are real concepts outlined within the Holy Bible (Luke  16:23, 26: Matt. 13:41,42; Rev. 20:1; Psalms 55:23).  

On a life  course perspective, we in Christ realize we cannot go on sinning and  expect God to bless us.  Eventually, because of His mercy, love, and  grace.  He is going to draw His hedge hand of providence away and  allow us to suffer the consequences of our chosen sin vice to wit's end  in order to encourage and lead us back to Him.  God never usurps our  freewill.  And He "disciplines us for our good, that we may share His  holiness" (Hebrew 12:10).

Watchman Nee contends and I agree, "It is  therefore a matter of utmost concern that we preserve an uncompromising  attitude towards sin: not merely yielding no ground to the enemy to  indict but also learning how to differentiate between the reprimand of  the Holy Spirit and the accusation of the evil enemy's charge from what  is his charge mixed in with the reproach of conscience.  We must realize  most assuredly that the Holy Spirit never reproves further if the sin  is cleansed by the precious blood and forsaken."

THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF SACRIFICE, JESUS CHRIST

Once a person confesses their sin in sincere  repentance to our Holy Father, they strive in righteous obedience to "go  and sin no more."  When this process is done, God forgives.  All sin is  covered and redeemed by His shed blood on the Cross of Calvary.  Satan  doesn't want us to ever believe we can be forgiven and whispers dark  guilt, shame thoughts into our mind that we will never change, can never  do or be of any good, and God just expects too much.  In part this is  true, as we humans can never really be good, holy, and righteous, as is  Christ Jesus our Lord.  That is why God sent His only begotten son,  Jesus Christ, as the lamb of sacrifice for our sins (John 3:16-17).   

Jesus shed his blood on the Cross of Calvary so that we are made perfect  (1 Cor. 1:18, 1:23, 2:2). 

We  are to strive to live in accordance with holy righteousness as new  creations who seek to glorify Him (2 Cor. 5:17).  We believe by faith  and the power of His shed blood that He alone will help us do so by the  indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the intuition we receive from Him and  know to be true.  "Where He leads me by His word and Spirit I will  follow", should be our mind's course.  Our life course can yield both  blessings and curses (Ex. 7, Deut. 28, 29).  God's expectations and  destiny for our life are filled with blessings, hope, and a  future (Jere. 29:11).  

THE GUIDANCE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD

Everything we do with our life is recorded by  our Holy Father (Rev. 20:12).  Every one of us shall give an account of  himself to God (Rom. 14:12).  Our words (Matt. 12:36), thoughts (Rom.  2:15-16), deeds (2 Cor. 5:10), intents (1 Cor. 4:5), prove who we are in  spirit and in truth.  As Christians, God leads us through the  convicting power of His Holy Spirit in order to guide us towards  spiritual growth.  Never does God control our body and soul (mind, will,  emotions), directly.  God does not on a continual basis through audio  voice tell or command us in what to do.  We work in cooperation with  His Holy Biblical word and Holy Spirit who guides us by intuition which  at times can be felt as a still small voice from within (John 16:13). 

We seek His will not our own knowing He is  sovereign, good, and wants what is best for us.  God's ways are higher  than our ways.  If one is hearing voices commanding them in what to do,  it is not of God.  Satan manipulates and controls, which is why  addiction strongholds such as sex and pornography are so consuming.  God  loves us as He guides us to stay on course (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).  

We  are the masters of our own body, soul, and God desires  we control ourselves in order for our spirit to prosper.  Our spiritual  intuition bares witness with His Holy Spirit.  When we seek God's face,  word, will, and ways, our intuition shouts a warning when the enemy's  sin darts of destruction are ever near.  Heed the warning and be blessed.  Our spiritual walk with God is that simple. When we submit to God and resist the Devil he flees (James 4:7). 

I like the way Watchmen Nee (page  142), explains this process: "The leading and discipline we receive  therein is His leading and discipline. In stressing the significance of  the Holy Spirit we are at the same time emphasizing our own spirit since  the latter constitutes His base of operation.  Our danger, upon  apprehending the work and function of man's spirit, is to rely entirely  on it, forgetting that it is merely the servant of the Holy Spirit."  So  true, we must always remember it is God's spirit that gives us  strength, not our own, by which the enemy is defeated.  In servitude, we  are to listen and obey God's spirit within us, not Satan's lies. 

 We  must be quick to follow God's guidance when met with the conviction our  soul (mind, will, emotions), and spirit feels.  As soon as we realize we  are on a detour away from God, taking a wrong course.  We are  immediately urged by God's spirit to turn around, change course, in  order to avoid defeat.  Faith without works is dead.  For if one's  spirit ignores God's operational spirit from within our body we are  useless to overcome Satan's sin temptation plans. 

When discussing the flesh body one must not  ignore the entire body of Christ as well as members one to another  (Romans 12:5).  In turn, our brothers and sisters in Christ can be a  blessing of encouragement, help, and strength of unity in prayer in time  of need.  For God works by His spirit in a corporate nature as well (1  Cor. 12:12-13).  

Walking in accordance with God's Holy Spirit is often a  daily battle as many obstacles, hindrances, and pleasures,  seek to  detour us.  When we give our  battles to Jesus, by His Spirit, we gain  strength to discard flesh desires and live for Him.  Each victory in  overcoming temptation not only defeats the enemy but grows us up in faith. 

We come to know that minding the spiritual man yields forth a life filled with peace, joy, and contentment.  A  satisfaction within one's mind that all is well with my soul and God.   Nothing else in life compares with first hand knowledge of God's  blessings and favor in life.  His love, mercy, and grace, go before us.   Supernaturally, we will receive the intervention by which to defeat the temptation snares that come our way.  For the Lord knows how to deliver the Godly from temptation (2nd Peter 2:9).   Lean  on Jesus.  Trust in Jesus.  Hope in Jesus.  When we fix our eyes on  Jesus we increase our connection to Him (John 14:6), learning to stay on course and finish the race He has set before us achieving the ultimate victory.  For God is both our guide and our destination.

There is only one way to  God, the Holy Father,  and that is by way of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6).  Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy -  1 Timothy 3:16: And without controversy great is the a mystery of godliness, God manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
